Volunteer

Volunteering is rewarding and our facility is ready to involve the community in a number of ways

Adopt

Adopting an animal from the rescue shelter is a key way to make a difference

We would ultimately like all our critter family to be adopted into forever families.  Adopting is and should be a commitment to the builiding of a lifelong bond with the animal of your choice.  We can help you find an animal that is a good fit with your lifestyle.

That said, the reason we are here is that sometimes people have a change of heart, a change in lifestyle or an animal that isn't a good fit.  We'd like to offer each animal in those situations a new chance at finding a forever home.

We welcome volunteers who will be directly involved in animal care and responsible for walking, reading to or other social interactions with the animals.
We also have needs such as preparing meal selections, ongoing paperwork, documentation of animals through photos and bios, laundering and cleaning, barnyard duties, office work, community outreach and fundraising, and want to hear from you.

We are able to accept Paypal donations as well as physical items brought directly to the shelter.  Food, blankets and toys are frequent needs, but sometimes a project or practical item is a direct need.  For instance, a cat ramp was recently built by a volunteer donating time and services to provide access to a disabled cat.  Material donation needs for special projects vary over time.

We provide essential vet services and care in our facility, for the rescue animals but also offer them a longer rehabilitation period in a foster home.  Sometimes being involved in the natural cycle of a household will get an animal to recovery and encourage them while awaiting a forever home.  For a variety of reasons, we often find that our animals spend time in foster families prior to being adopted.

Donate

We rely on the generosity of a communtiy inspired to give freely of time, money and other resources

Foster

Sometimes an animal's condition calls for more personalized care and attention that a foster family can provide.

Community Support is Essential to Our Success: Get Involved!

The No-Kill Shelter succeeds with the help of a community ready to experience our mission together.  We rely on volunteers to help with specialized skills, as veterinary services, as well as foster families, socialization support classes, and a wide netowork of people who walk, feed, groom, play with, and finally provide forever homes for our critter family.  We have a job for everyone!  How would you like to help?
